For decades, WGI has maintained a database of parking structure construction costs, incorporating both in-house projects and those of others. In 2006, WGI began publishing an annual outlook for garage construction costs coupled with an updated national median cost and anticipated costs for major U.S. metro areas. Today these articles have thousands of downloads. This presentation reviews that forecast for 2022 and dives into the hard and soft costs that make up a construction budget for a parking structure. The program also illustrates typical operating costs for a parking structure and the cost of various types of parking technology.
