Presentation Description:
Parking has historically been tied to the use of physical space; however, the advance of innovation and customer services has shifted the conversation to a constantly growing number of stakeholders. Parking technology procurement teams are no longer limited to the directors or managers of operations or accounting departments. Successful procurement now requires the participation of numerous stakeholders, including information technology staff, financial services auditors, transportation departments, and patrons to name a few. With the steady growth of smart mobility, parking will continue to emerge as a fundamental component of intelligent transportation systems, providing users with accurate information and enhancing their customer experience. This presentation will use the City of Raleigh as an example to outline innovative approaches to address demands from various stakeholders, including workshops and collaboration meetings, customer service initiatives, and data management and transparency. The session also will address ways to identify parking network components, the need for stakeholder diversity, and methods to collaborate between all stakeholders while also vouching for the needs of the whole ecosystem. Lastly, this discussion will outline the process needed for an effective procurement process for the deployment of new technologies.
