Seamless by Design: How AI is Transforming the Parking Experience

Thursday, September 25, 3:00 PM, Room: Mt. Pilot

The parking industry is at an inflection point where emerging AI tech is improving how drivers fundamentally interact with parking facilities. This session will provide a grounded examination of how AI-powered LPR and machine learning are being applied to:  Replace physical tickets and payment interactions with automated experiences Achieve reliable vehicle recognition even in challenging conditions by going beyond LPR Reduce operational friction points that traditionally lead to customer frustration  Attendees will gain insights from real-world implementations where AI tech has demonstrated measurable improvements in parker satisfaction and operational efficiency. The discussion will focus on advanced AI-LPR systems combining license plate reading with vehicle characteristics, self-service capabilities of AI-PARCS that empower users while reducing staff workload, and integration approaches that maximize existing infrastructure investments. The session will conclude with a forward-looking perspective on how these innovations may evolve to meet changing mobility needs.

This session offers 1 certification point for the PTMP Application and Recertification.

Learning Objectives

  • How vehicle recognition AI (plates + make/model) powers automated, seamless parking experiences.

  • How AI/ML systems adapt to patterns of parker behaviour and the conditions/context of the location.

  • How to leverage AI for enhanced parker satisfaction, ROI, and enforcement with AI-powered LPR and live data.
