Tigers Commute in Real-time all the Time

Thursday, September 25, 3:00 PM, Room: Mt. Pisgah

Clemson University Parking and Transportation Services’ innovative unified mobility & commute management platform was designed to connect users in Real-time all the Time via app or web to all things parking and transportation. We contracted with RideShark, and project urgency existed as Clemson’s IT department was discontinuing support for transportation resources within our my.Clemson app. My.Clemson provided real-time bus tracking & maps featuring parking by user type, bike-share locations, and EV charging. Tigers Commute features far exceed these needs, and it has been touted by my.Clemson’s mobile team as my.Clemson on steroids! We recently contracted with eleven-x to install 10K+ parking sensors, and features now include access to: Real-time availability of Employee, Student, Accessible and Visitor parking  Accessible parking & mobility options Real-time bus tracking & schedules Real-time EV Charging availability Real-time Clemson E-bike availability Trip Planning & Ridesharing where drivers can charge fees to share commute costs Connect with biking/walking partners Clemson's Nightline On-Demand Nighttime transit Ability to send push notifications/alerts Ability to run contests & incentivize mobility options  University users can establish single trips or recurring commutes by car, transit, bicycle, or walking. Utilizing this feature requires log in using Shibboleth single sign-on (SSO) so that Clemson affiliation is verified, and students and employees are not paired. Through collaborative development with RideShark and eleven-x, Tigers Commute has elevated Clemson University’s mobility experience to an unparalleled level of service. Real-time information is available through the web or connections to native apps, reducing ongoing API maintenance and eliminating IT involvement. It allows for agnostic and seamless integration of multiple mobility systems and resources for Real-time all the time parking availability, bus tracking, EV Charging, Bikeshare, and more….
